How to beat the Moon Presence
The Moon Presence is the optional last boss in the Hunter’s Dream. You must refuse Gehrman and consume three One Third of Umbilical Cord items before he dies. The Childhood’s Beginning trophy is tied to this ending.
The Moon Presence follows Gehrman only on the three-consumed-cord branch. It cannot be gun-parried like Gehrman, so the fight rewards positioning, limb damage and recognizing the health-draining gaze rather than repeating the duel's firearm timing.
Unlock without mixing up the endings
Consume any three of the four cord thirds before Gehrman dies, refuse his offer and defeat him. Accepting his offer still gives Yharnam Sunrise even if you already consumed three. Honoring Wishes requires refusing and defeating him without meeting the three-cord condition.
Melee openings
Circle toward the flank or rear, avoid the sweeping counterattack, and take one or two hits after a committed combo. Save stamina to leave. Damage to the head can create a visceral opening; a firearm interrupt and a head-break visceral are different mechanics.
The gaze and blocked healing
Its later gaze reduces your HP to 1 and leaves it recovering. Close in and attack during that recovery to regain health through rally rather than spending the whole opening fleeing. Its blood showers can temporarily prevent Blood Vial use: leave the shower area and avoid the next melee combo while the effect lasts.
Reward
The NG reward is 230,000 Blood Echoes and the Childhood's Beginning ending, with no equipment drop. Finishing the ending advances the character into NG+, so complete remaining business before the final victory.
