Central Yharnam
Central Yharnam has two boss branches: optional Cleric Beast on the Great Bridge, and required Father Gascoigne at the Tomb of Oedon. Open the house and elevator shortcuts before repeated boss attempts.
Route priority: lamp, house shortcut, useful sewer pickups, elevator, then Gascoigne. This is a landmark walkthrough, not an interactive coordinate map.
Lamp to the Great Bridge shortcut
- From the lamp, descend to the main street and burning crowd. Continue past the gate into the plaza, then climb by the fountain toward the bridge.
- Near the two bridge wolves, enter the dark house. Go downstairs, exit toward Gilbert's gate and open it from this side for a return to the lamp.
- Cleric Beast is beyond the brick troll and crows on the bridge. That dead end does not lead to Cathedral Ward.
Sewer pickups and the required exit
- Hunter Set detour: from the overlook opposite the bridge approach, drop along the wooden aqueduct platforms. Descend to the rats and search around the corner past the large huntsman.
- For Gascoigne, take the house-side route through the dog kennels and dry dock into the canal. Climb the ladder beside the boar tunnel and activate the elevator before crossing the next bridge.
- Bait the burning boulder, retreat into a side alcove, then cross and climb toward the Tomb of Oedon. After Gascoigne, open the rear gate and take the building's ladder to Cathedral Ward.
Two useful detours
Saw Spear: cut down the hanging body in the dry-dock rafters, then collect it below. Saw Hunter Badge: loot the boar tunnel to unlock starter weapon purchases.

Where is the Hunter Set?
In the aqueduct branch reached from the bridge-approach overlook. It is not the purchased Yharnam Hunter Set.
How do I shorten the Gascoigne run?
Activate the elevator near the canal-exit ladder; it connects back to the terrace below the lamp-side shortcut.
