Buy the normal Chikage for 50,000 Blood Echoes from the Bath Messengers in the Hunter's Dream after receiving the Cainhurst Badge from Annalise. It requires 10 Strength, 14 Skill and 12 Bloodtinge. The shop is not in Cainhurst.
Choose the build around the mode you intend to use. The ordinary blade deals physical damage and benefits mainly from Skill; the transformed blood blade scales with Bloodtinge and continuously drains health. A Skill user can use the ordinary form without turning it into a Bloodtinge build.
Unlock the purchase
Reach Cainhurst, defeat Martyr Logarius, equip the Crown of Illusions and approach the wall behind his seat. Kneel before Annalise and join the Vilebloods to receive the Cainhurst Badge. Return to the Hunter's Dream shop with 50,000 echoes.
Scaling and a practical build path
At +10 the ordinary form has E Strength and B Skill scaling; the transformed form has S Bloodtinge scaling. Those are fully upgraded grades, not the starting weapon's grades. Meet every requirement even if your preferred mode does not scale with that attribute.
For a blood-blade-focused PvE build, meet the Strength and Skill requirements first, build survivability, then aim for Bloodtinge 25 and later 50. For a mixed-mode build, Skill also matters. Return to the ordinary form between engagements to stop the health drain and regain access to your firearm.
Versions and gem slots
Normal, Uncanny and Lost versions have different gem-slot layouts, not different move families. Match gems to the slots on the version you own; do not assume every right-hand weapon excludes circular gems. Check the version-specific socket diagram before choosing a farming target.
